New Immigrant Center for Learning

Origin

To demonstrate concern for the guidance of new immigrants and their children, the Taoyuan City Government collaborated with the Ministry of Education to establish Taiwan's first New Immigrant Learning Center at Zhongzhen Elementary School in Pingzhen District on March 28, 2005. Together, they strive for the future of new immigrants and the development of global multiculturalism, aiming to effectively build empathy and understanding among citizens toward new immigrants, promote bilateral cultural identity for "Children of New Taiwan," and popularize lifelong learning channels for new immigrants.

Objectives

  1. Strengthen the educational knowledge of new immigrants and effectively exercise the functions of family and parental education.
  2. Encourage new immigrants to participate in advanced study and educational activities, establish support networks, and provide necessary assistance.
  3. Plan educational growth and development activities to enhance the educational quality of new immigrants.
  4. Provide an adaptive, barrier-free learning environment (resource sharing) to cultivate basic life adaptation skills and establish good interpersonal relationships.
  5. Respect multiculturalism, integrate social resources, and provide diverse learning channels to assist in learning and adaptation, thereby enhancing national competitiveness.
