Are There Any Employment Promotion Programs for New Immigrants Looking for Jobs?
The employment promotion programs for new immigrants are as follows:
- Employment Subsidy Allowance: Employers who hire new immigrants are eligible for a subsidy of NT$11,000 per month (paid monthly) or NT$60 per hour (not paid monthly), for a maximum period of 12 months.
- Temporary Work Allowance: Provides short-term employment placement and allowance for unemployed new immigrants, encouraging them to return to the workforce as soon as possible. The payment standard is based on the hourly basic wage, and the total payment for one month shall not exceed the monthly basic wage, with a maximum duration of 6 months.
- Workplace Learning and Re-adaptation Program: Provides new immigrants with opportunities for workplace learning and re-adaptation to assist in employment preparation. Monthly subsidies are provided for the individual’s workplace learning and re-adaptation allowance (calculated based on hourly basic wage, not exceeding the monthly basic wage) and administrative management and counseling fees for the employer (calculated as 30% of the actual issued workplace learning and re-adaptation allowance). The maximum subsidy period is 3 months; however, for cases involving older adults, persons with disabilities, persons under rehabilitation protection, youths aged 15–17 who are neither in school nor employed, and drug users, the period may be extended to 6 months.
