Article 5 of the Employment Services Act stipulates that, in order to protect equal employment opportunities for citizens, employers shall not discriminate against job applicants or employees on the grounds of race, place of birth, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, appearance, facial features, physical or mental disabilities, or other similar reasons. For matters explicitly regulated by other laws, such provisions shall prevail.

If you encounter employment discrimination by an employer due to your place of birth when seeking a job or during employment, you may directly file an employment discrimination complaint through Taoyuan e-Service Portal (e指通). The Taoyuan City Government Labor Bureau will investigate the case and submit it to the Taoyuan City Employment Discrimination Review Committee for review.
